1. Introduction
Podium Insurance LLC ("Podium", "we", "us", or "our") operates as an insurance brokerage. We provide an online platform that connects consumers to multiple carriers to facilitate rate comparisons and policy switching across personal property and casualty lines — including auto, home, renters, condominium, landlord, flood, umbrella, and valuable-item coverage.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Podium, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Policy data via Canopy Connect (coming soon): We're adding an optional step to intake that lets you securely connect your current coverage. Once it's live, Canopy Connect will provide us with a read-only copy of your policy details — coverage levels, vehicle information, and policy dates. We never receive or store your insurance carrier login credentials. Until that step launches, we rely on what you tell us directly when you join the waitlist.
- Contact information: Name and email address, which you provide when starting your comparison. We use this to deliver your results and communicate updates about your quote.
- How you found us and how you use the site: Which site, search or campaign brought you here, the first page you landed on, and which of our pages you viewed. We measure this ourselves, on our own systems. Until you send us a form it is tied only to a random identifier kept in your browser, and we cannot tell who you are from it. If you send us your details, we attach how you found us to your request, so we can see which of our efforts reach the people we help.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To submit your profile to insurance carriers and retrieve rate comparisons
- To match you with carriers available in your state
- To deliver your ranked results and notify you of updates
- To facilitate a policy switch if you choose to proceed
- To improve the accuracy and speed of our platform
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations an insurance brokerage
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, retarget you across the web, or train machine learning models for sale.
4. Data Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Carrier partners: We share the minimum necessary policy and profile data with insurance carriers to obtain accurate quotes on your behalf. This sharing is the core function of our service.
- Service providers: We use a small number of vetted third-party service providers (including Canopy Connect, once that optional connect-your-coverage step of intake goes live, for policy data retrieval) under strict data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
We do NOT sell your data to data brokers, advertisers, or any third party for marketing purposes. This is an absolute commitment.
5. Data Security
We take security seriously and have implemented the following safeguards:
- AES-256 encryption for all data at rest
- TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit
- SOC 2 aligned security practices and controls
- No personally identifiable information in application logs
- Access to customer data restricted to personnel who need it
- Regular security reviews and dependency audits
While no system is perfectly secure, we are committed to industry-standard best practices and will notify affected users promptly if a breach ever occurs.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data from our systems
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out: Opt out of any non-essential communications

7. Cookies
We use essential cookies only — the minimum required for our platform to function (session management, security tokens, preference storage). We do not use third-party advertising trackers, behavioral pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies.
To remember how you found us between visits, our site keeps a small record in your browser's own storage (not a cookie). It holds a random identifier and the source of your first and most recent visit. If you arrived through a partner's link, or a link a friend shared with you, it also keeps that link's code, for up to 90 days for a partner and 30 days for a friend, so we can credit them if you send us your details later. It stays on our systems: we do not share it with advertisers or analytics companies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not keep this record or log your page views. If you send us your details from a partner's or a friend's link, we still note who referred you, so we can credit them. You can remove this record at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect platform functionality.
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at privacy@podium-insurance.com.
