- Policy data via Canopy Connect: When you connect your current insurance policy, Canopy Connect provides us with a read-only copy of your policy details — coverage levels, vehicle information, and policy dates. We never receive or store your insurance carrier login credentials.
- Contact information: Name and email address, which you provide when starting your comparison. We use this to deliver your results and communicate updates about your quote.
- Device and usage analytics: Standard web analytics data including browser type, pages visited, and session duration. This data is aggregated and anonymized — we cannot identify you from it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To submit your profile to insurance carriers and retrieve rate comparisons
- To match you with carriers available in your state
- To deliver your ranked results and notify you of updates
- To facilitate a policy switch if you choose to proceed
- To improve the accuracy and speed of our platform
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations an insurance brokerage
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, retarget you across the web, or train machine learning models for sale.
4. Data Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Carrier partners: We share the minimum necessary policy and profile data with insurance carriers to obtain accurate quotes on your behalf. This sharing is the core function of our service.
- Service providers: We use a small number of vetted third-party service providers (including Canopy Connect for policy data retrieval) under strict data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
We do NOT sell your data to data brokers, advertisers, or any third party for marketing purposes. This is an absolute commitment.

We take security seriously and have implemented the following safeguards:
- AES-256 encryption for all data at rest
- TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit
- SOC 2 aligned security practices and controls
- No personally identifiable information in application logs
- Access to customer data restricted to personnel who need it
- Regular security reviews and dependency audits
While no system is perfectly secure, we are committed to industry-standard best practices and will notify affected users promptly if a breach ever occurs.
