Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about how Podium works — and why it's different.
Today, you tell us what to look into when you put your household on the list — what you
hold and anything else we should know. We're adding an optional
next step: securely connecting your current coverage through Canopy Connect,
a read-only connection that never shares your login credentials with us, so
the review starts from your exact existing policy instead of what you
type in.
Yes, completely free. We're compensated by carriers when you choose to
switch through Podium — the same way a coach gets paid to make you win,
not to sell you one brand of shoe. You pay nothing, regardless of whether
you switch or not. Your review is yours to keep either way.
No. We use insurance-score data to price your household, not hard
credit pulls. Insurance inquiries are treated differently than credit
applications and do not appear on your credit report or affect your score.
We use the major national carriers and the regional leaders writing in your state.
The exact list varies by state — we display the carriers available to your
zip code so you always know you're seeing the full picture.
Somebody pays for the jingle, and it’s the policyholder. A national
carrier’s advertising is funded out of premium — billions a year
of it. A carrier without a mascot isn’t hiding; it’s spending that
money on claims and reserves instead, and selling through independent agents
rather than television.
Some names on your podium will be familiar. Some won’t. The ranking is by fit and financial strength, not ad spend, and every carrier comes with a card: who owns it, how long it has written in Massachusetts, and what it’s known for.

No problem at all. Your results are yours to keep — no pressure, no follow-up
calls, no expiration on your review. Knowing exactly where you stand is worth
information even if you decide to stay with your current carrier. We'll never
pressure you to switch.
Yes. Because we start with your actual policy data, the rates carriers return
are real — not ballpark estimates based on generic assumptions. Traditional
tools ask you to self-report your coverage; we read it directly.
That's the difference between an estimate and a number you can act on.
Joining the waitlist takes a couple of minutes. From there, we build
optimized coverage profiles from what you've told us and submit them to
competing carriers overnight — most people wake up to their ranked results
by the next morning.
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256 encryption.
We follow SOC 2 aligned security practices. We never sell your personal
information to data brokers, advertisers, or third parties. We share only
the data necessary to price your household — with the carriers we approach.
We're launching in Massachusetts first. We plan to expand to
additional states — enter your email and we'll notify you when we go live in
your area.
Once you pick your winner from your ranked results, we handle the paperwork
and coordinate your switch. We time the transition so your new policy starts
the same day your old one ends — your coverage never lapses. Most switches
are complete within 24 hours.
